CSDS Rules

Off-Site Issues

We generally do not moderate off-site issues such as arguments or altercations. However, we will moderate an a user that has off-site issues if we believe their presence could compromise the safety of the server. If you know someone who has committed real violations of safety to others, please do not hesitate to report such behavior to us. Please note that we will have the expectation that any reports will have ample amounts of evidence, and we expect full compliance with any additional requests to ensure the validity of evidence.

CS Issues

We do not moderate any issues that happen on Chicken Smoothie directly such as trades or player interactions. Please contact CS staff if you need help on the website.

Offensive Words

Offensive words cannot be misspelled, shortened, or partially censored (e.g. f$%&), as the offensive intent is still clear, and it is a form of getting around moderation. We do allow four specific curse words, being: ass, damn, crap, and hell.

Words classified as slurs are never tolerated even if directed at yourself, or as a "reclamation". This rule will change as language changes and evoles with time.

Vaguing

Vaguing is not permitted in any form. Vaguing is in reference to speaking poorly about someone, but directly saying who it is. For example, "I commissioned someone in this server and I've been waiting for weeks, I can't believe this!!". Another example may be "Yikes, I just saw someone selling this pet for 500C$, when it only goes for 200C, what a ripoff". While it may be valid to criticize users for what you feel isn't right, our server is not the place to express those concerns when they're openly critical and non-constructive. A lot of the time, the user could be in our server, and it never feels good to see someone talking about you negatively, even if they don't say it's that user. If you have noticed a user behaving in a way that neeeds to be moderated on, discuss that with CS Staff.

Name-Dropping

As a direct contrast to the above rule, we also do not allow direct call-outs of users. This includes things such as showing someone's username in a trade screenshot, or publicly calling someone out for something they have done. We do however, permit positive name-dropping without needing consent from the other user. If you want to tell the server someone on CS did something nice, you're more than welcome to!

Begging

We do not allow guilt-tripping or begging behavior.  What this may look like is “wow.. I barely have any pets..this sucks…I never get gifts”. This example is normally a clear indication that a user is trying to guilt-trip someone else into gifting. Begging is very straightforward, you’re asking for free pets or items, or any other free thing from another user. If you really want free stuff, check out the Free Adoptions board on the CS forums, not CSDS.

Violence

No threats or promotion of violence will ever be tolerated, even if it's towards your friend as a joke, we prefer not to have that kind of conduct or language. Telling someone you're going to take their life, hurt them, or otherwise will be heavily moderated on. 

Abuse

Mentions of self harm, suicide, or abuse are not acceptable in CSDS. Even if you’re talking about being clean from self-harm, overcoming abuse, or anything positive, we generally ask that it not be discussed.

Discrimination

Discrimination and hateful comments are absolutely no-tolerance, and will likely result from a kick from CSDS if we record even a single instance of someone displaying such behavior. This includes, but is not limited to: Racism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, religious discrimination, misogyny, misandry, or discrimination based on national origin.

Trolling

Trolling can be anything from saying things purely for shock value, "baiting" users into being upset or bothered, purposefully derailing conversations, or directly opposing other users just to get a rise out of them. 

Spamming

Spamming is not tolerated as it is a disruption of our chat flow. Things like spamming song lyrics, sending every word of your sentence in a separate message, constantly sending images with no context, or generally disrupting a chat that close off opportunities for other users to join the conversation.

"Anti" Statements

Any "anti" with a prefix of anything else is never necessary. We ask that users express their opinions in a positive light.

DNI Lists

DNI Lists (Do Not Interact Lists) often contain very mature or inappropriate topics that we do not want to expose our user base to. They can also include political or anti statements, which aren’t allowed in the server regardless. DNI list also endanger users, especially in the younger demographic, as they provide a detailed list of every trigger or topic that could upset someone, giving bullies a recipe for how to upset someone in a targeted manner. This makes their potential harm greater than their potential benefit. Instead, we encourage you to block any user that may be upsetting you intentionally or unintentionally if they express opinions or content you dislike, or report the user. This will be moderated if it’s in your status, about me, or in a linked site such as a Carrd.

Debates

We do not allow debates about real-world topics. Chicken Smoothie (and CSDS by connection), are intended to be family friendly, and real-world issues have no place in this community.  Your profile and statements should not contain political beliefs and parties, or statements on divisive topics like abortions or firearms. Your own gender identity, religion, and broad statements discussing human rights (e.g. BLM) are permitted. Depictions of the confederate flag in any form are not allowed.

Mature Content

Appropriate images, discussion, or content from mature shows that are well-known (e.g. Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad) are permitted. The difference between this and obscure franchises, is the fact that with something like Game of Thrones, most users would generally know of its existence and genre. With something obscure, we could risk a user looking it up as they don’t know what it is, and being exposed to inappropriate content.

“Disturbing content” such as overly graphic horror, Creepypastas, or content that could scare younger audiences is not permitted. This is extremely subjective, but generally anything that could scare a younger child is not permitted to be depicted or recommended in any way.

Media

You may not provide links to articles, songs, or other media that contains offensive content or cursing.

Content relating to dating and romance in regular discussion, art, and writing may not be sexual or explicit or mention sexual assault.

Substances

We do not allow the discussion, mention, artistic representation, or images of any kind of drug or drug paraphernalia. Regardless of whether or not said drug is legal where you live (e.g. Marijuana in Canada), it is still not permitted regardless. Abuse of alcohol or using nicotine products/alcohol underage being mentioned or depicted is strictly prohibited.

Medical Advice

We do not allow any medical advice to be requested for or given, this also involves pets/animals. This is to ensure the safety of others, and to prevent unqualified users/children from giving incorrect advice. This could be as simple as “how do I cure a cold?” or “what medication for anxiety should I use?”. Please use online resources, or more ideally, visit your doctor.

However, simple questions such as "what foods are good when I'm sick?" or "what are some strategies you guys use when you're anxious to feel better?" do not qualify as medical advice, and are okay to use.
